Chapter 16

Jug 16:1 參孫到了迦薩、在那裏看見一個妓女、就與他親近。

Jug 16:1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.

Jug 16:2 有人告訴迦薩人說、參孫到這裏來了．他們就把他團團圍住、終夜在城門悄悄埋伏、說、等到天亮我們便殺他。

Jug 16:2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.

Jug 16:3 參孫睡到半夜、起來、將城門的門扇、門框、門閂、一齊拆下來、扛在肩上、扛到希伯崙前的山頂上。

Jug 16:3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.

Jug 16:4 後來參孫在梭烈谷喜愛一個婦人、名叫大利拉。

Jug 16:4 And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.

Jug 16:5 非利士人的首領上去見那婦人、對他說、求你誆哄參孫、探探他因何有這麼大的力氣、我們用何法能勝他、捆綁剋制他、我們就每人給你一千一百舍客勒銀子。

Jug 16:5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.

Jug 16:6 大利拉對參孫說、求你告訴我、你因何有這麼大的力氣、當用何法捆綁剋制你。

Jug 16:6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.

Jug 16:7 參孫回答說、人若用七條未乾的青繩子捆綁我、我就軟弱像別人一樣。

Jug 16:7 And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.

Jug 16:8 於是非利士人的首領拿了七條未乾的青繩子來、交給婦人、他就用繩子捆綁參孫。

Jug 16:8 Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.

Jug 16:9 有人預先埋伏在婦人的內室裏．婦人說、參孫哪、非利士人拿你來了。參孫就掙斷繩子、如掙斷經火的麻線一般．這樣他力氣的根由人還是不知道。

Jug 16:9 Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.

Jug 16:10 大利拉對參孫說、你欺哄我、向我說謊言．現在求你告訴我當用何法捆綁你。

Jug 16:10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.

Jug 16:11 參孫回答說、人若用沒有使過的新繩捆綁我、我就軟弱像別人一樣。

Jug 16:11 And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.

Jug 16:12 大利拉就用新繩捆綁他、對他說、參孫哪、非利士人拿你來了。有人預先埋伏在內室裏．參孫將臂上的繩掙斷了、如掙斷一條線一樣。

Jug 16:12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.

Jug 16:13 大利拉對參孫說、你到如今還是欺哄我、向我說謊言．求你告訴我、當用何法捆綁你。參孫回答說、你若將我頭上的七條髮綹、與緯線同織就可以了。

Jug 16:13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.

Jug 16:14 於是大利拉將他的髮綹與緯線同織、用橛子釘住、對他說、參孫哪、非利士人拿你來了。參孫從睡中醒來、將機上的橛子、和緯線、一齊都拔出來了。

Jug 16:14 And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.

Jug 16:15 大利拉對參孫說、你既不與我同心、怎麼說你愛我呢．你這三次欺哄我、沒有告訴我、你因何有這麼大的力氣。

Jug 16:15 And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.

Jug 16:16 大利拉天天用話催逼他、甚至他心裏煩悶要死。

Jug 16:16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;

Jug 16:17 參孫就把心中所藏的都告訴了他、對他說、向來人沒有用剃頭刀剃我的頭、因為我自出母胎就歸 神作拿細耳人．若剃了我的頭髮、我的力氣就離開我、我便軟弱像別人一樣。

Jug 16:17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.

Jug 16:18 大利拉見他把心中所藏的都告訴了他、就打發人到非利士人的首領那裏、對他們說、他已經把心中所藏的都告訴了我、請你們再上來一次。於是非利士人的首領手裏拿著銀子、上到婦人那裏。

Jug 16:18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.

Jug 16:19 大利拉使參孫枕著他的膝睡覺、叫了一個人來剃除他頭上的七條髮綹。於是大利拉剋制他、他的力氣就離開他了。

Jug 16:19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.

Jug 16:20 大利拉說、參孫哪、非利士人拿你來了。參孫從睡中醒來、心裏說、我要像前幾次出去活動身體．他卻不知道耶和華已經離開他了。

Jug 16:20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.

Jug 16:21 非利士人將他拿住、剜了他的眼睛、帶他下到迦薩、用銅鍊拘索他．他就在監裏推磨。

Jug 16:21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

Jug 16:22 然而他的頭髮被剃之後、又漸漸長起來了。

Jug 16:22 Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.

Jug 16:23 非利士人的首領聚集、要給他們的神大袞獻大祭、並且歡樂、因為他們說、我們的神將我們的仇敵參孫交在我們手中了。

Jug 16:23 Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.

Jug 16:24 眾人看見參孫、就讚美他們的神、說、我們的神將毀壞我們地、殺害我們許多人的仇敵、交在我們手中了。

Jug 16:24 And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.

Jug 16:25 他們正宴樂的時候、就說、叫參孫來、在我們面前戲耍戲耍。於是將參孫從監裏提出來、他就在眾人面前戲耍。他們使他站在兩柱中間。

Jug 16:25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.

Jug 16:26 參孫向拉他手的童子說、求你讓我摸著托房的柱子、我要靠一靠。

Jug 16:26 And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.

Jug 16:27 那時房內充滿男女．非利士人的眾首領也都在那裏。房的平頂上約有三千男女觀看參孫戲耍。

Jug 16:27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.

Jug 16:28 參孫求告耶和華說、主耶和華阿、求你眷念我． 神阿、求你賜我這一次的力量、使我在非利士人身上報那剜我雙眼的仇。

Jug 16:28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

Jug 16:29 參孫就抱住托房的那兩根柱子．左手抱一根、右手抱一根、

Jug 16:29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.

Jug 16:30 說、我情願與非利士人同死．就盡力屈身、房子倒塌、壓住首領和房內的眾人。這樣、參孫死時所殺的人、比活著所殺的還多。

Jug 16:30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

Jug 16:31 參孫的弟兄和他父的全家、都下去取他的屍首、抬上來葬在瑣拉和以實陶中間、在他父瑪挪亞的墳墓裏。參孫作以色列的士師二十年。

Jug 16:31 Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.
